Instructor

Chris, our esteemed senior instructor at Mid-America Marksman Institute, embodies a deep-seated love for the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting, instilled in him from his early days in a small Kansas town. His formative years spent on the Little Arkansas River, under the guidance of his grandfather on their family farm, laid the foundation for his lifelong passion. From BB and pellet guns to mastering the .22 long rifle during his high school days, Chris’s journey into shooting culminated in Clay Trap competitions, where he clinched several Junior level awards.

Transitioning from the Active Duty Air Force in 2007, Chris embarked on a career in law enforcement, initially with the Bentley Police Department and later the Kechi Police Department. His involvement in a multi-department Special Response Team (SRT) and training with the Wichita SWAT Team added layers to his skill set. Subsequently, Chris returned to the Air Force full-time. He balanced his military commitments with law enforcement duties while also assuming the role of a department firearms instructor in a part-time basis.

In 2019, Chris ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing Kansas Arms Supply, LLC, followed by the launch of Precision Rifle Voice (www.PrecisionRifleVoice.com) in 2023. Inspired by a quest to enhance his hunting skills, he delved into reloading and long-distance shooting in 2018.

Since his inaugural match in 2017, Chris’s passion for precision shooting has intensified, leading to a plethora of achievements. Noteworthy among these are his qualifications as a Precision Rifle Pro Series Finale Qualifier in 2021 and 2022, placing him among the top 150 shooters globally. He has consistently excelled at both regional and national levels, securing top finishes in the Kansas Precision Rifle Club and Precision Rifle Series Military/LEO divisions.

Chris’s list of accomplishments is extensive, spanning from his graduation from the Kansas Law Enforcement Academy to his Chief of Police appointment, his involvement in the Special Response Team, and his graduation from the Chief Master Sergeant Leadership (CLC) and Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) Academies.
